Your site score dropped

It looks like you’ve disabled Boost or its features for your site, so I can’t carry out any troubleshooting steps from my end.

That said, one thing that can help is using the Jetpack Site Accelerator feature alongside Boost.

If you do that and are still experiencing lower scores, please let us know and leave Boost active (with each of the three options – critical CSS generation, image lazy loading, and JS deferment – turned on), so that we can take a closer look.

Thanks for answering me.
Indeed I turned off Boost since:

I tried Jetpack Boost.
Then I see that my site score didn’t change much so I decided to shift back to Boost off.
I set therefore all three:
Optimize CSS Loading
Defer Non-Essential JavaScript
and
Lazy Image Loading

back to off.

But now my site score is much worse than before!
Before was “C” and now is “E” !!!

So how could roll back to my site performance BEFORE I tried Boost?
In other words: What residues did Boost leave behind and how can I erase them?
I’d like to get back my “C” score!!!

Moreover I do not use Jetpack Site Accelerator feature alongside Boost since when some times ago I did then many images of my site were not updated and difficult to find due to all the Limitations you list.

Any way I’d like to get back my “C” score since I do not understand why, after trying Boost my score went down.

Hi @passegua,

If you’ve turned Boost off, things should go back to how they were unless something has changed on the site (like the activation of a new theme, the addition of custom CSS, the structure of the homepage, and so on). Even some things outside of your control can affect your site’s speed, such as being on a shared server that has gotten more sites added that are equally demanding server resources.

I’m looking at your site’s performance with Google’s PageSpeed Insights and some performance issues were identified involving your site’s First Contentful Paint, Speed Index, and Largest Contentful Paint. The biggest opportunity listed there for improving your site speed which can reduce the loading time by 3.42s (which is a significant number), is to reduce your initial server response time. This is the recommendation there:

Themes, plugins, and server specifications all contribute to server response time. Consider finding a more optimized theme, carefully selecting an optimization plugin, and/or upgrading your server.

I suggest you give the PageSpeed Insights report a closer look.
