• Ok so i have developed my website locally with xampp finshed the site and now tried to deploy it onto the clients hosting which is.

    register1

After uploading via ftp i then get the following error.
“Your server is running PHP version 5.1.6 but WordPress 3.2 requires at least 5.2.4.”

Pretty annoying does this mean that i have to install a older version off wordpress on the hosting for this to work, and then just not upgrade to a newer version.

    Any help please really frustrating?

Yes. Or get the client’s hosting upgraded.

    Thanks esmi

Just thought their might be a hack out their somewhere what a pain this has happened on two off my clients hosts and they just give me the following response.

    Hi, Sam,

Yes, this is due in the next couple of weeks.

    Regards,

Sorry – there’s no hack or workaround. WordPress 3.2x simply requires PHP 5.2.4 or above.

so, which version of WordPress that is supported by PHP version 5.1.6

Well, I’m on WP 3.1.4 and PHP 4.something, if that helps…
When I press “Update”, I get

You cannot update because WordPress 3.2.1 requires MySQL version 5.0 or higher. You are running version 4.1.22.

Compared with your comment above, that doesn’t really make sense, does it? Maybe later versions were more specific in which version they required.

Anyhow, going back to 3.1.4 might work, if you’re game.
