    Hi there,

    I’ve installed the plugin, set up a wheel and added my Mailchip API / chosen the list etc.

    However, when I test it to see it in action I get the message “Your merge fields were invalid.”

    Please can you help?

    Hi Nick,

    You can get this error when you are sending incomplete information to your MailChimp list. Make sure the “email” field is the only required field on your MailChimp list. Often times, a first name or last name is also required, but since that’s not present on your wheel form, MailChimp will throw this error.

    To check whether or not a field is required inside MailChimp, you can go to your MailChimp account > Lists > Click the list you are using > Settings > List fields & merge tags. On that screen, you’ll be able to see what fields should be required on the WP Optin form. Make sure “email” is the only one required.
