    Hi,

    I am having a similar issue to another user and when I try to install WooCommerce via the “Add plugin” tab inside WordPress. However, it reported “Update Error!” the first time I installed it. Then when I checked “Installed Plugin”, WooCommerce appeared there; so I activate it, but it says “Your installation of WooCommerce is incomplete. If you installed WooCommerce from GitHub, please refer to this document to set up your development environment.” And WooCommerce Wizard didn’t pop up either.

    I have tried deleting (/wp-content/plugins) folder called woocommerce and have then tried reinstalling the plugin but I keep on getting the same error message.

    Thank You

    Hi there!

    I understand you’re still seeing “Your installation of WooCommerce is incomplete. If you installed WooCommerce from GitHub, please refer to this document to set up your development environment.” after deleting the WooCommerce folder from /wp-content/plugins.

    Can you please cross-check if there are duplicate folders like WooCommerce-old or WooCommerce1 etc under /wp-content/plugins, and reconfirm if deleting them and trying to install WooCommerce from Dashboard > Plugins > Add new (search for WooCommerce and install from this page) works?

    If not, can you please try completely removing WooCommerce by following the instructions in Uninstalling WooCommerce – Documentation?

    If you’re still having trouble with this, could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status.
    Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.? Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

    Please reach out to your hosting provider to ensure that you have a complete backup of your store before making any of the above changes.

    Sorry for the misunderstanding I’m trying to install woocommerce. But I keep on getting “Your installation of WooCommerce is incomplete. If you installed WooCommerce from GitHub, please refer to this document to set up your development environment.” .I deleted the woocommerce folder to try to reinstall it again, but after reinstalling I cannot get woocommerce setup wizard to popup (and still get the error message).

    Thanks

    Hi there!

    Am I understanding correctly that the problem you’re now facing is not being able to run the setup wizard?

    In that case, you can run it manually by clicking on WooCommerce > Help > Setup Wizard > Setup Wizard button

    Setup Wizard
    Link to image: https://d.pr/i/vcjsT2

    Does that make a difference to the notice you’re seeing?

    Hello. I don’t see this when I install the plug-in. The error message (“Your installation of WooCommerce is incomplete. If you installed WooCommerce from GitHub, please refer to this document to set up your development environment.”) is the only thing that appears after installing the plug-in. Thanks

    Thank you for confirming.

    Before we get to the next steps on troubleshooting, we’d first want to reconfirm that WooCommerce is completely removed from your site, before trying to install it again.

    Please get back to us with confirmation after performing the steps below:

    1. Check with your hosting provider to reconfirm that you have the latest, working backup of your site.
    2. Follow the steps in Uninstalling WooCommerce – Documentation to completely remove WooCommerce. Once you’re done uninstalling, please remove the snippet you’ve added to wp-config.php file
    3. Finally, check if there are duplicate folders like WooCommerce-old or WooCommerce1 etc under /wp-content/plugins, and reconfirm if deleting them and trying to install WooCommerce from Dashboard > Plugins > Add new (search for WooCommerce and install from this page) works.

    Thank you for working with us on this.

    Hi there!

    Could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status.

    Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.? Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

    Along with that, Could you please provide us with a screenshot of:

    1. Full list of plugins on your wp-content/plugins folder
    2. A screenshot of Dashboard > Plugins > Installed plugins page.

    If you don’t already have a screenshot service installed, here are a few options:

    * https://snipboard.io
    * https://skitch.com/
    * https://getcloudapp.com/
    * https://awesomescreenshot.com/
    There is also a walkthrough guide here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/

    Hi, I have tried again and got a new error message. https://i.gyazo.com/8c500e22b97921dc24a799feed17c6d3.png”

    Also in my menu I don’t see any woocommerce option so I cannot give you the system report. My menu looks like: https://i.gyazo.com/80f0e676e2aa48c3270e5485640feb60.png
    Thank You.

    That’s true. I should have guessed. Sorry.

    Regarding the 502 error, there could be a number of causes

    For the next steps:

    1. Please reach out to your WebHost to see if they see any errors on the site, or PHP logs
    2. If that doesn’t help, please follow the steps in the above reply (removing the plugin folder manually, and making sure there are no other folders for WooCommerce)
    3. Try deactivating all the plugins on the site, and use a theme like Storefront, and then check if the installation works correctly
    4. I’d also recommend requesting your hosting provider to cross-check if there are any permission errors on the wp-content/plugins folder, and if they didn’t find any, request them to install the plugin for you, in case we’re missing something here
    5. If none of them helps, please get back to us with screenshots of wp-content/plugins folder, and Dashboard > Plugins > Installed plugins page.

    Thank you for working with us on this.

    We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.

    i’ve got the similar problem , “Your installation of WooCommerce is incomplete. If you installed WooCommerce from GitHub, please refer to this document to set up your development environment.”

    Then i followed your advices , still getting the same response . Nothing’s Changed , this issue isn’t resolved yet.
