• I am having a hard time updating the database. It asks me to click the link to update but I just get Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

    the text you posted is the so called “user friendly error page” in internet explorer. It is somewhat userfriendly that it fails to clearly give you a useable error information but throws dust into the users eyes. Anyway you can forget what is written down on that page. Just remember this one word: timeout.

    Your browser tries to request wordpress-upgrade.php but the server does not answer fast enough. Typically this can be 30 seconds. I think the update of your database takes too long. Just try again, maybe switch the browser to firefox might help in this case. You can increase the timeout value of your browser so that it tries a longer time (let’s say 2 minutes) before giving up with the timeout error message.
