I can’t reproduce the issue and have not had any other reports of this. Have you tried opening the Simple Author Box settings page? That should also clear that notification.
That also comes up when you activate or update Simple Author Box. But again it should go away as soon as you open the Simple Author Box settings page.

If anything, we updated the plugin to version “2.47” today.

The 2.47 update changed nothing related to that notice. We will look into it more and see if we can manage to reproduce it.

I’m at 2.48, and I have the same issue. I think I’ve had this problem since updating to 2.46 and 2.47.

Clicking on dismiss will not work, going to the appearance page and saving does not help either.

I’ve found a solution.
I have Redis installed. Flushing the Redis cache fixes the issue.
