• Dear Creators of W3 Total Cache,

because your tool had no, really absolutely NONE impact on my website performance,
measured with 3 performance checks, i tried to uninstall it.

It has disappeared from plugin list but now i get the error:

files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove C:\inetpub\wwwroot\mysite\wp-content\db.php.W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove C:\inetpub\wwwroot\mysite\wp-content\object-cache.php.

But there is either a file called db.php.w3 nor a file called object-cache.php

Please help to remove your software from my website. Meanwhile, i put an hour in this, without
    any success. Thank you

  • Ok soo 1. This might be from misconfiguration or whatever but I have never had 0 impact on any site with it.

    2. Go into your wp-content folder and delete the cache folder, look for the w3tc config file and delete the object-cache.php and db.php these were drop-ins that allowed W3TC to cache the content.

In addition with @destac’s suggestion, please also check wp-config.php and .htaccess file if there is any code related to W3TC, that should be marked with a comment, so remove those code too.

Before dealing with .htaccess file, please keep a backup so if in case it goes wrong you can restore.

    Have a good day!

    Cheers
    Ash
