I setup wordpress site kit, it is prompting me to complete setup, I cannot get past this page.

    It says:
Please select the account information below. You can change this view later in your settings.

Under that my account and property are already selected

    Under that it says:

You need to connect the Universal Analytics property that’s associated with this Google Analytics 4 property.
There is a dropdown, my property is NOT listed in this dropdown, but it i7s listed above

Under this is a gray button that says Configure Analytics

    and a cancel option

I don’t know how to get past this point.
    Thank you.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi @dogrescuer thanks for the question. Currently I can see that there is a Universal Analytics ID placed on your site UA-*****70-72. Is this the UA code you are looking to place or not?

If not then you will need to ensure that this is first removed. It looks like it could have been placed using a plugin on your site. Are you aware of setting up any other plugins on your site where you placed an older UA Analytics code?

If you share your Site Health Information via this private form then I will be happy to check for any plugins that this could have been set in. It’s also possible that the snippet was placed manually.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi, I’m having this save problem!

And, I looked at the source code, and the only UA- property tag on the page is this one (that looks like it’s from site kit – cause it doesn’t match any of our GA properties):

    var _googlesitekitTrackingData = {"referenceSiteURL":"xxxx.xxx","userIDHash":"xxx","isAuthenticated":true,"activeModules":["search-console","analytics","pagespeed-insights"],"isSiteKitScreen":false,"trackingEnabled":false,"trackingID":"UA-000000000-3"};

I promise that the trackingID does not match any in our properties, or even any in the list.. But, the code says googlesitkitTrackingData, so where is it coming from?

Edit: And this is the error message I see on the backend trying to set it up:

You need to connect the Universal Analytics property that’s associated with this Google Analytics 4 property.

Any ideas about how to fix this?

    Thanks!

    Hi @chenryahts,

If you’d like to open an individual support topic we’d be happy to assist you from there. Note also that Site Kit does insert a Google Analytics anonymous tracking property code snippet, if users have opted into this from the plugin’s settings (Site Kit > Settings > Admin Settings). This is the code snippet you described above.

If you have any questions with the above let’s communicate from your individual support topic. Thank you!
