And MailPoet, although developed by a French company, is not GDPR-compliant. Looking for an alternative …

  • Hello MaxMaken. Thanks for the review.

What do you mean you have to pay for unconfirmed / unsubscribed subscribers?

Can you rephrase? We’re not sure we understand!

For your subscriptions, you count all subscribers and not only active subscribers.

For subscriptions, we’ll consider all subscribers with the status “Subscribed” and “Unconfirmed”.

These are used to calculate your total number of subscribers.

That’s because unconfirmed subscribers are potential subscribers after confirmation, and should be counted as well.

Oh, we generally recommend our users to delete unconfirmed subscribers over 6 months old. Keeping your list tidy is important.

Only confirmed subscribers (the Subscribed filter in MailPoet), will be counted.

So you treat free users better than paying user?

Anyway, let’s forget about this topic. I would suggest, however, that you make automatic deletion of unconfirmed / inactive subscribers a feature.

Yes, we want to eventually do this or possibly drop confirmation altogether in the future. To be determined.

You missed the GDPR deadline. Your plugin cannot be used without violating the GDPR.
