Why do I get the following error “You do not have the correct permissions to edit sermon” when I try to delete a sermon?

I just updated to the latest version 0.45.21

Is there a specific place I need to adjust permissions? I’m currently logged in with the Administrator account.

I’m sorry about that. There were a lot of security tightening in 0.45.21, and it looks like that’s introduced this bug. I’ll get it fixed with the next release.

I thought all development and maintenance on Sermon Browswer had ended, and that there would be no more updates.

We migrated to Sermon Manager because the above topic appeared to indicate that it was the “approved” replacement. Did we get that wrong?

Development on Sermon Browser has ended, but there may be a few bug fixes and compatibility updates if they’re required.

Sermon Manager is in active development and therefore a more robust choice. However, there are still a few SermonBrowser features not yet available on Sermon Manager, including the ability to output the biblical text of the passage being preached on, and the ability to reference more than one Bible passage. If you don’t need those features, Sermon Manager is the better choice. But SermonBrowser will stick around in the meantime for users who need those features.

PS – The original issue (deleting sermons) was fixed in 0.45.22

    Hey @mark8barnes,

    Good timing!

We have just released a version of Sermon Manager that works with multiple bible verses and has SB passage support!

It will work for anyone who has already migrated using our import functionality, the verses will show up on update of Sermon Manager, and it will also work for anyone doing an import from that latest update.

this was not fixed on the last update, i cannot delete sermons, can you help please.
i keep getting You do not have the correct permissions to edit sermons
my sermon browser is updated to the latest update.

    thanks!

If you filter or page the link for delete is missing the nonce from the querystring. Depending on how old the sermon is you need to delete you can set the sermons per page option very high so that it is on the first page when it loads. This is a workaround until the fix for the paging and filtering is uploaded.

As of 10/1/18 I am having the same issue of “not having permission to edit”. I have the most recent update 0.45.22 and it seems I can delete some sermons but not all. If I attempt to delete just from the sermon list or by filtering I cannot delete the ones that I want to. Please advise.

@josephlgrant The links for Delete are being created correctly when the page loads initially but any navigation or filtering renders the content again with incorrect links. To work around this you can go into the Options and set your sermons per page high enough to include the sermon(s) you need to delete. Do not sort or filter. Then change the sermons per page back after you have deleted.

Yes, this work-around has helped! Thank you!
