    Hello everyone,

Whenever I try to click on the black bar on top or the Dashboard, I get this: ‘You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.’

I am still logged in and can access the admin area if I click on Widgets eg, but what does that mean? And what can I do to fix this problem?

Many thanks in advance for your help which will be much appreciated.

  • Did this issue start as soon as you installed WordPress, or more recently?

Thanks ftschumann. It started recently. I cannot make a definite connection with a plugin I might have installed or a theme update – though perhaps the passage from WP 3 to WP 4? Or perhaps the installation of the Quotemaster plugin?

Are you able to access your files using FTP?
I would suggest renaming the Quotemaster plugin folder at
    wp-content/plugins/

    That should deactivate it.

My wordpress driven website is altogether down, delivering a long strong when I try to reach ArdisRadio.net. Seems the WP server(s) are down. The message:

Warning: require_once(/nfs/c05/h01/mnt/161795/domains/ardisradio.net/html/wp-content/plugins/si-contact-form/includes/class-fscf-util.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /nfs/c05/h01/mnt/161795/domains/ardisradio.net/html/wp-content/plugins/si-contact-form/si-contact-form.php on line 63

    Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/nfs/c05/h01/mnt/161795/domains/ardisradio.net/html/wp-content/plugins/si-contact-form/includes/class-fscf-util.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/local/php-5.3.29/share/pear’) in /nfs/c05/h01/mnt/161795/domains/ardisradio.net/html/wp-content/plugins/si-contact-form/si-contact-form.php on line 63

All of these message refer to the si-contact-form plugin. Try renaming that folder via FTP to something like si-contact-form_past. That should disable the plugin, then try again.

Thanks a lot ftschumann for your help, but I need to keep Quotemaster on the website.

And WP is not installed on my computer. I am maintaining this website for a friend in another country. All I have access to is the admin area of the website.

I’ll go and check whether others have had similar problems when installing Quotemaster.

    Thanks again!

Corrected: Ok, like I said, if you rename (not delete) the quotemaster folder first, that’ll deactivate the plugin.

I understand that you need IT, but doing this temporarily will at least let you check if this plugin is in fact actually responsible for this issue.

    Best of luck,

    Florian

@ftschumann – thanks for your help. I’ll try and deactivate the plugin from the admin area, just to test, as you suggested.

Can you confirm that deactivating will not delete all the data (the quotes) that I have entered in the Quotemaster plugin?

@dooleymark – Sorry, I didn’t realise that the message billardis posted wasn’t from you! I assumed that that message appeared when Quotemaster was diactivated. Please ignore (and I agree with WPyogi, his issue was completely unrelated and it was rude to interrupt someone else’s thread that way).

@dooleymark – If you have si-contact-form installed, no need to rename or deactivate that plugin.

I wish I could guarantee that you won’t loose any data from the plugin, but I can’t do that as I have no experience with the plugin. I would certainly backup the quotes.

apologies. First time WP forum user.

@billardis – Apologies accepted, and welcome to the Forum! ??

@ftschumann – Thanks. I’ll take the necessary precautions and hold my breath!
