You do not have sufficient permissions…

  • Let me start by saying that I am a beginner and it looks like there are no help articles for beginners?

    I own a domain, have installed and updated wordpress, but am now getting “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.” when trying to log in by going to …/wp-admin

    I have read through and followed lots of instructions telling me to delete folders, upload new folders etc etc. and followed the guides to the letter.

    Is there any one here that can run me through how to get this sorted??

    Note: when plesk installed wordpress for me, it also installed a database for me which i can view through the plesk conttrol panel. when i look at the settings of my database by using myPHPadmin, it says ‘no privileges’ in red under create new database, even though i have a database running with the user that was automatically created. could this have anything to do with it??

  • That could be the reason as if you are admin then you should have all privileges so check if can change that on the database or ask your host if they can help change it.
