• My site has had repeated attempts to get access to my add-on domain, but I can block the IP because I get the following message “You can’t block your own IP address.” ; they repeated try to gain access using the username of “blog” which doesn’t exist. And why my home address is a different IP, it still doesn’t allow me to block my hosting IP. What can I do?

  • Hello adavenue2015,
you should not block your own hosts IP. That would make your site unavailable to itself. If they are trying to log in with the username “blog” and the username “blog” doesn’t exist you can easily block them by going to Wordfence “Options” page and under “Login Security Options” add the username “blog” in the option “Immediately block the IP of users who try to sign in as these usernames”.

I’ve been having this issue nonstop. I keep getting hits from Panama trying to upload files, when I try to block them it says “I cant block my own IP.” It is not my IP, I am in the US. Help

    Hi gtosnipey,

You want to check to make sure your setting for how Wordfence gets IPs is correct. If you check Wordfence Live Traffic and all the IPs are your own servers address, then there is something wrong with that setting. Which IP are you trying to block?
