You are using a US default image server

  • By default thumbnails are stored on this server:

    https://ipgeolocation.io/ip-location/i.ytimg.com

    which is located in the United States. For me as a German user this is a major concern because it is violating data protection laws. Since I am using your plugin to especially avoid such situations, I think this is a no-go (especially because it is used by default).

    Please consider to save images somewhere else than this => maybe set local storage by default. I simply hope by locally using a thumbnail no IP address of website users are transferred to i.ytimg.com

    Ideally I do not want to rely on ANY server between my site and Youtube. So processing thumbnails locally in WordPress is preferred => avoid using ytimg.com
