Sporadically users are unable to sign up and get redirected to an error “You are not allowed to do this”.

Worryingly, in the last hour I’ve attempted this 10 times and have had this message come up every time. Tried different browsers and incognito etc.

I’ve seen other posts mention this is to do with caching issues? We use WP Rocket and I’ve whitelisted the URL “/register/” under Never Cache URL(s) settings.

    Hi @clementlanoe,

From my experience, all the “You are not allowed to do this” issues were caused by a caching plugin (or maybe caching from the hosting provider), and they were solved by excluding the pages that have our forms from caching. Note: I’ve also tested the PB Registration form on a local WP instance of mine and everything worked correctly (didn’t have this error message appearing).

Please check in the caching plugin that you use if there are other options that can be used to exclude certain pages from caching (or maybe they need the full URL of the page there).

Another test you can do is to briefly disable the caching plugins from your site, after which also clear your browser cache (CTRL +F5) and then try to Register again (you can also try using an Incognito browser window to do this).

    Best regards,

Thanks, I’ve now added caching exception to CloudFlare for the /register page too. Recon that would have done it?

I will test disabling WP Rocket too.

I’ve registered here: https://www.hedgeweek.com/register/ with a test user account (“TestCozmoslabs”), and everything worked correctly. It appears that has done the trick (excluding the page from caching).

    Best regards,
