• This error when installing

    You appear to have already installed WordPress. To reinstall please clear your old database tables first.

    Install in a new dir, with new database and new database user, with new database prefix?

    any ideas?

    Thanks

    Thanks but im not trying a reinstall, rather a second install on the same host. So I cannot drop the existing db. Also when installing I already tried a different table prefix? When installing im prompted to use a different table prefix which I would imagine is already inserted into the new wp-config.

    Any more ideas?

    You can install it in a subdirectory (domain.com/subdirectory) or on a subdomain (sub.domain.com)

    I have same problem. I solved it myself & it will also work for you.
    1. Open your wp-config.php & search the word DB_NAME, here you may see the DB_NAME name is “wordpress
    2. Change the DB_NAME wordpress to your Data-Base Name. For example my Data-Base name was “budget-rental” and I changed it by define('DB_NAME', 'budget-rental');

    Hope it will work, if not, you can mail me: shihabdinajpur@gmail.com & I will try to solve your specific problem. -Thanks
