• WordPress newbie here. I installed the Yost SEO plug-in to optimize one of our sites. When ran a check through Google Webmaster it indicated I had duplicate meta “descriptions” in site 10 pages. In viewing the source through the browser I see the following code and note that there is a setting for <meta name=” and another that shows as <meta property=’og:description’ that both have the same value. Not sure what the difference is between the two or how to remedy the duplication. Please help – thanks.

    <!– This site is optimized with the Yoast WordPress SEO plugin v1.2.5 – https://yoast.com/wordpress/seo/ –>
    <meta name=”description” content=”A success story…. “/>
    <link rel=”canonical” href=”https://…/&#8221; />
    <meta property=’og:locale’ content=’en_us’/>
    <meta property=’og:title’ content=’About Us – …’/>
    <meta property=’og:description’ content=’A success story… ‘/>

  • I am experiencing this exact same issue at the minute. Did you ever find a resolution for it?

    I have tried turning off the Open Graph checkbox but they tags are still being generated in my header.
