Yoko theme – responsive design and IE

Hello guys,
I’m working on a child theme of Yoko theme – while having tough time with IE (6-7) integration I notice you don’t use a fallback system for media queries not working on older ie version, like https://github.com/scottjehl/Respond. Why ?
