    Hi there,

I’ve seen quite a few posts in here where there are reports that YoastSEO slows down the backend, unfortunately they all end up being closed due to inactivity.
I have the huge problem where YoastSEO is causing severe slowdowns within editing a page due to some Ajax calls that are fired when editing a block.

The plugin is up-to-date (18.4.1) as well as WordPress. The theme used is Enfold with the Avia Page Builder. With only YoastSEO active, the problem still persists – so it isn’t a plugin conflict.

Can anyone help me out here?

    Hi @fabeylous

Would it be possible for you to check if this issue occurs with just a default WP theme (e.g. TwentyTwenty) and only Yoast SEO 18.4.1 as the plugin enabled?

Could you also check if you’ve completed the SEO data optimization process under your WP admin dashboard > SEO > Tools?

Lastly, could you check if you’ve met the plugin requirements, and if you install the Query Monitor plugin, are there any slow queries being generated by the Yoast SEO plugin?

Information like this would help us understand exactly how to pinpoint where this ‘site slowness’ is coming from and if we can potentially identify where it’s coming from.
