I have the Yoast SEO plugin and recently added WP301 Redirects Pro.

There’s a link scanner in the new plugin. However, when I click on it, I get the following error message:

‘No URLs were found in your website’s sitemap at either /sitemap.xml or /wp-sitemap.xml.
Please make sure the sitemap is accessible publicly, not requiring any authentication, not behind a maintenance page etc.’

I have produced a sitemap.xml file. However, Yoast SEO’s default sitemap (sitemap_index.xml) overrides other sitemaps, so it is not just a case of uploading my own sitemap.xml to the root folder.

Is there a workaround or solution to this issue or is it just a case of me not being about to use WP301 Redirects’ link scanner?

    Hello @mikefrisbee,

    Thanks for reaching out.

    I have produced a sitemap.xml file

Can you let us know how you produced the sitemap?

Yoast SEO’s default sitemap (sitemap_index.xml) overrides other sitemaps

If you don’t want to use the Yoast SEO-generated XML sitemap, you can diable the feature in WordPress > Yoast SEO > Settings > General > Site Features > APIs

    Thanks, Maybellyne.

I used a free online generator to produce the sitemap.xml file. (To be honest, I can’t remember which one!)

I had a look at the File Manager and couldn’t find the Yoast sitemap in the public_html folder, despite using the search facility. Whereabouts is it located, please?

    Hi @mikefrisbee

The Yoast SEO plugin generates sitemaps on the fly as you create content. So there’s no physical file on your server.

You can follow XML sitemaps in the Yoast SEO plugin
