    Dear suppoter !
I just installed yoast seo and realized yoast_indexable table will double the size of mysql database. For example, I have wp_posts (the table that stores wp’s posts) with size 10Mb, then wp_yoast_indexable will also be 10Mb in size ( now total 20MB ). It will be a big deal if your wp-post size is 300MB+. Then it will double to 600MB. This causes major problems with the CPU and connectivity.
Please tell me is there any way to solve this problem? I used Yoast Test Helper plugin to reset Indexable table. It actually freed up the entire space of that table. But then Yoast asked me to run Indexable again and the capacity was back to the way it was. Will I be able to continue not using the Indexable feature?

  • Hey @ndduong188,

Thank you for using Yoast SEO and for reaching out.

We understand you are worried about the database table sizes related to Yoast SEO.

The indexables database tables will store our Yoast SEO-related data only, so our plugin can query the data more easily and more quickly than storing them solely in the post and post meta tables.

However, it’s strange that you see the table size being 1/1 similar to the posts table size. This shouldn’t be the case – it will grow as your content grows, but still – there should be a size difference. We don’t store the post content and other data from other plugins or custom fields – only our own Yoast SEO-related data.

Will I be able to continue not using the Indexable feature?
No, we don’t recommend trying to accomplish this. Our plugin will eventually rely solely on our indexables tables – whereas currently we still store them in both our tables and the post meta table.

It is possible that as the number of posts increases the size similarity between the indexable table and the meta table will be different but the size of the future indexable is still a big issue if there are thousands articles (for example an embed video website)

    Hey @ndduong188,

    Thank you for your reply.

As you write new content on your site, our table size will also increase slightly as we store the new Yoast SEO data relevant to that content.
