Yoast WP SEO: 500 Internal Errors in Admin Area
-
The problem began with an endless (14+ month) issue with og:images. Facebook will only allow me to choose from three images on our website, no matter what I do, and I couldn’t change it. (site: phillymini.org)
Yesterday, I seemed to have solved the problem by installing Yoast WordPress SEO. Using the Facebook debug tool, I was able to scrape the URL of a post a few times and watch as FB eliminated useless images and selected the desired image from within the post. Everything seemed fine.
This morning, I needed to modify a post. Using both Chrome and IE, I tried to log into the admin area and was greeted with a blank screen. After a few tries, I was able to get into the admin area – into the post – but when I hit “Update,” I received a 500 error. I also received a few 500 errors when viewing the site.
After much research, I was able to deduce that Yoast SEO is the culprit but, not being able to access the FTP of my site (I can only get in via the traditional WP admin login via a web browser), I can’t solve the problem.
Anyone have a trick to resolve this Yoast SEO issue that causes the 500 errors? I would love to be able to use this tool to solve the og:image issue – as it’s the only thing that’s worked in the last year.
Thanks, in advance!
