    Hi all,

i hope you can help with the following:

    1.
what field will be used if select the option to consider the field body (weight[body]). I think it is the standard body field when writing a new post or page, right?

I do not use the standard body field in wordpress for pages or posts. I use wysiwyg fields from ACF – Advanced Custom Fields pro

    2.
Could it be that ACF Fields are not considered by YARPP?

    Thanks in advance
    Flo

HI @flofiwp, thanks for reaching out. I hope we can answer your questions.

1.Correct, when you set YARPP to use “Bodies”, it’s using the standard post content, not any custom fields

    2. Custom fields (including ones added using ACF) are not incorporated into YARPP’s relatedness queries.

In your case, you should probably just compare posts based on titles, categories and tags.

I’m sorry I’m not aware of an easy way, beyond hiring a developer, to have YARPP consider custom fields in its relatedness queries.

    Does that make sense?

    Hi Michael,
thanks a lot for your quick answer. Helped a lot.
Will YARPP work if there is conentent in the standard body field of Post, Page or any other Custom Post Type when this standard post content is not rendered in the frontend but only saved in the database?
    In other words:
Do you think it could be a workaround to work with ACF Fields and use these for displaying content and add the text used in ACF Fields AGAIN additionally into the standard post content which is not being displayed in frontent/template?

    Thanks in advance
    Flo

Hi @flofiwp, yes that workaround could work. YARPP doesn’t care where, or if, you display the post’s content/body, it just cares what it contains when it’s doing the comparison in the database query.
