Google Search Console is only finding 4 pages from the Yoast sitemap however there are more than 4 pages in the sitemap. This is a common issue we have been seeing with our sites. We have let the sitemaps site with 0 pages found for over a month with no progress. Can you please advise why this may be happening?

    Hello @practisinc

Thanks for reaching out. Please provide us with sample URLs of missing pages from the sitemap or screenshots that highlight the issue you are experiencing. You can use any image-sharing service like https://pasteboard.co/, https://snag.gy/, https://imgur.com/, https://snipboard.io/, or even upload the screenshot to your own website. Once you upload it to an image-sharing service, please share the link to the image here.

I see 15 URLs in the page sitemap. Could you also add a screenshot of what you got from Google Search Console?

Do you see all 3 images I posted? I included them on the same imgur link and I can view them as slides.

Ah, thanks for pointing out it’s a slide! There’s no error from Google Search Console about your sitemap though only four URLs have been discovered. There’s no cause for concern yet as the data you see is not in realtime. Please allow some more time for Google to process the sitemap.

    Hi Maybellyn,

We have tried this strategy in the past with no success. We have left the Yoast sitemap sit for 6+ months on accounts without any pages being discovered. Most accounts we have work perfectly fine, but others never find any pages, or only find a small percentage of the pages included in the sitemap.

    Hi @practisinc

Google needs a way to find a page in order to crawl it. This means that it must be linked from a known page. For the pages that are not being discovered yet, can you kindly confirm you have proper links to those pages?

If you already have added links correctly, since waiting doesn’t seem to be working, you can explicitly ask Google to crawl individual pages.
