Yoast Sitemap has too many sitemaps under 1 category

    What did you expect to happen?

    Less URLs submitted in sitemap and only 1 sitemap for services.

    What happened instead?

    5 sitemaps for services with 4000 URLs in 4 of them and 304 in the last service sitemap.

    Question

    I assume many urls are duplicates. How do I remove them from services sitemap so it wont cause creation of other 4 additional sitemaps? Is it possible to find all 404 urls and update sitemap to have just one services sitemap? Should definitely be less than 1000 URLs. Not even talking about 4k+ urls.

  • Yoast should take just the pages/posts you’ve actually created. A random sample form your sitemap brings up valid URL’s, no 404’s. So perhaps you, or someone else, hás created all these pages in the ‘services’ custom post type?
