When I create a new post or try to edit a new post, Yoast fields like “SEO title”, “meta description”, etc, are not showing up anymore. I’ve just updated the plugin to the 21.4 version. What’s wrong?

I used the Health check & troubleshooting plugin with all plugins disabled and just Yoast enabled, and yet, nothing from Yoast showed up.

    Could you help me please?

    Thanks!

    Lilian

  • I’ve have the same issue :

If I look to source code, content divs for each tabs are empty. Example :

    <div role="tabpanel" id="wpseo-meta-section-content" aria-labelledby="wpseo-meta-tab-content" tabindex="0" class="wpseo-meta-section active" ><div id="wpseo-metabox-root" class="wpseo-metabox-root"></div></div>

    WP : 6.2.3
    Yoast : 21.4
    Theme : Tagdiv Newspaper

This occurs only when using Gutenberg editor on pages/post.
    With classic editor, it’s OK

    See that in console :

    post-edit.js:25
Uncaught TypeError: window.yoast.initEditorIntegration is not a function
    at HTMLDocument. (post-edit.js:25:3042)

    and also that :

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot destructure property ‘htmlEntitiesRegex’ of ‘o.helpers.htmlEntities’ as it is undefined.

    Hello @simplelivingrecipes & @pixelsing

I’m sorry that you both experienced a blank meta box with the Yoast SEO 21.4. A?blank meta box issue occurs due to a JavaScript conflict. We’d like you to perform a conflict check to help us determine the next steps while saving you time.

While using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin to have only Yoast SEO and a default WordPress theme active, please check for any Javascript console errors.

You may follow the steps here – https://yoast.com/help/how-to-find-javascript-errors-with-your-browsers-console/

Hi! I actually found it last night. It somehow is on the settings bar, the one that shows on the side, where you can choose featured photo, tags, etc.

I tried to drag it down back to the end of the post, as it’s easier to work that way, but it won’t go. It goes up and down in the side bar, but doesn’t allow me to drag it outside of the bar.

Do you know how I can bring it back to the end of the post?

    Thanks!

    Hello Lilian,

Do you mean that the Yoast SEO meta box is now in the sidebar instead of under the default WordPress content editor?

We are aware of a reported issue with the block editor where the meta boxes under the content can be pushed to the sidebar, sometimes accidentally. In short, the under-content and sidebar list of boxes appear to be a single list. Due to the sidebar setup being stored per user and browser, we cannot fix this for your account.

Please follow this guide on moving the sidebar meta box back under the content. If you get stuck at a step, please tell us the step number and provide us with a screenshot of what you see so we can better assist you.

    1. Go to the add new post screen.
    2. If the sidebar DOES NOT show ‘Post’ and ‘Block’, click on the gear icon next to the ‘Publish button’.
    3. Click the kebab three-dot menu.
    4. Click on ‘Preferences’.
    5. Under ‘Panels’, check ‘Custom fields’ and ‘Yoast SEO’.
    6. The page should refresh, and you will see a ‘Custom fields’ section below the content and above the ‘Document’ line. You may have to scroll down to see the ‘Custom fields’ section.
    7. You will see a ‘Yoast SEO’ section in the sidebar (while the gear icon is selected). You may need to scroll down in the sidebar or minimize some areas.
    8. Click the up arrow ‘^’ next to the ‘Yoast SEO’ section. The meta box will move from the sidebar to the under-content area.
    9. Click the arrow on the right side to expand (if minimized) the Yoast SEO section.
    10. You may disable the ‘Custom fields’ section using the above steps that enabled it.

Do let us know how it goes.
