    Yoast SEO Version; Latest version

I have both Yoast SEO XML Sitemap and Google XML Sitemap both installed in my wordpress website.

I would like to know if having both different types of XML Sitemaps generators in my website will be “harmful” ?

Today is 15 Jan, I realized that my website Cached data is still at 2 Jan 2013, could this due to the reason of the 2 different sitemap generators installed? Is the norm for Google to crawl your site approximately once per week?

Would like to seek your humble advices!

So I will have to disable one of them?

Would like to know which of it are you using, and when we submit our sitemap to google, do we submit sitemap_index.xml or sitemap.xml

I loaded both and I saw both got results, just that one is by the Google XML Sitemap Generator, and another by the Yoast XML Generator.

    Tks!

I use both, I use Google XML for my sitemaps and Yoast for everything else. I’m not sure if there is any harm in having two sitemaps, but I didn’t want to take the chance. I have looked and couldn’t find anything in particular about having two sitemaps. But, my guess is that if you do use two different ones, one sitemap may have different URLs than another, which could result in incomplete crawling of your site (this is just conjecture, though, I really don’t know). You can poke around here: https://www.sitemaps.org

I think Bing natively looks for sitemaps like this: https://www.example.com/sitemap.xml
(according to my interpretation of this page https://www.bing.com/webmaster/help/how-to-submit-sitemaps-82a15bd4)

What are the frequencies that you set for them to crawl your pages everytime?

My cached data is still on 2 Jan data, just wondering why. I thought usually is per week basis!

@joseph Bing can be given the precise filename of the sitemap file. I just submitted my site’s new sitemap (generated by WPSEO) and Bing requested the filename.
