Yoast SEO Will Not Allow me to Add Keywords

I’m praying someone can help me here. I have downloaded the Yoast SEO plugin and gone through every step of the configuration guide to set it up. I have searched every corner of the internet about this problem and can’t seem to find any resolution.

When I go to the post, and scroll to the bottom where the Focus Keyword, Snippet Editor, and Content Analysis areas are. The whole thing is “greyed out”. I can’t enter any keywords or any text in any of those fields.

The only information I found that relates to this is a post from 3 years ago that had no resolution. Someone mentioned going to Post Type settings and un-checking the “Hide Meta” box. My box is already un-checked. I even tried emailing Yoast support, but they will not answer questions for free plugins. Please help!
