    Hi there,

I am using the latest Yoast Premium plugin version 14.5 with the latest WordPress version(5.4.2) and the new Gutenberg editor.

In the post preview the og:image and twitter:image tag are not generating. Previously with the old version it was working fine.

Can you please look over this issue .

@manishs3 We’re sorry to hear you are experiencing an issue with the plugin.

We checked on the example page you provided and did confirm that neither the og:image or twitter:image metatags are being output.

Can you please confirm whether an image was set for the ‘Facebook image‘, and ‘Twitter image‘ on the Social tab of the Yoast SEO metabox?

If you have confirmed they have been set and are still not seeing them output, if you clear your cache (server, plugin/theme, or CDN such as Cloudflare) does this resolve the issue? If you are not sure how to clear your server cache you should speak with your host provider.

If after clearing the cache you are still not seeing them output, we would next recommend performing a conflict check to see whether another plugin/theme is interfering with the Yoast SEO plugin. We have a guide on performing a conflict check available here: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-check-for-plugin-conflicts

@devnihil devnihil Do I need to set the twitter:image for each post manually. Is there any feature in Yoast plugin which can set the twitter:image of the post same as the featured image of the post by default?

    Hi @manishs3,

Yoast SEO should automatically add the featured image in the Open Graph og:image meta tag.

Since Twitter now uses the Open Graph image tag as a fallback when the twitter:image isn’t available, Yoast SEO only adds the twitter:image meta tag when you set one specifically for Twitter under the Social tab in the Yoast SEO metabox and it’s different from the Open Graph image.

You can get the details about this behavior in the Yoast Twitter developer documentation.

@priscillamc It was working fine with the previous Yoast versions. Is this changed in the new version only?

@manishs3 We tested the plugin using the previous version (14.4.1) and confirmed that when a feature image was set for a page, it was then output as the og:image as well, but that no twitter:image was output.
