    If your theme has a meta description area in the add page/post sections then you can just add the text there, that you want to display, and it will override what is auto generated.

    If not, you can install a plugin, like WordPress SEO by Yoast, and that will add a meta description area for you. It will even show you how it will be displayed before you even publish the page.

    Thanks I am using SEO by Yoast. Just wondering if there is a way to prevent the shortcodes from loading initially in the meta description. I guess not. Thanks
