Unfortunately, the Yoast plugin slows everything down when enabled. The admin dashboard is slow and so is the front end. It seems that the plugin causes MySQL to spike and everything becomes painfully slow and sluggish.

Once the Yoast plugin is disabled, everything works fine with an average load speed of 1.5s (seconds) – 500ms (milliseconds), as opposed to 30s (seconds) when the Yoast plugin is enabled.

For now, the Yoast plugin will remain disabled until the author of this plugin reduces its effect on the loading speed.

Test your website speed when Yoast enabled & disabled and you will see the huge difference.

    Hello @jacksmithy

I’m sorry about the slowness you experienced with your website when Yoast SEO was active. First, can you confirm that your website meets the?plugin requirements? Also, could you check if you’ve completed the SEO Data Optimization process under WordPress > Yoast SEO > Tools?

Finally, if you go to WordPress > Yoast SEO > Settings > General > Site Features and disable the?Text Link Counter and Insights?one after the other, does the situation improve?
