Hi. After the last update 1.5.2.2 i have problem with big resources from yoast seo plugin. I measured it several times with P3 and it uses 75% of plugins time ( from 3,9 sec Plugin Load Time, seo uses 2,8 sec average! ).

So you understand that there is a problem. I use these plugins:

    Top Stories Widget
    Formcraft
    Greeklish Permalinks04
MyMail – Email Newsletter Plugin for WordPress
    NextScripts: SNAP Pro Upgrade Helper
    Remove Links From Comments
Social Networks Auto Poster Facebook Twitter G
    Wordpress Seo
    Wp2cloud WordPress To Cloud

    Any solution?

    I’m still using version 1.4.25.

WPSEO uses very little time currently.

I’m afraid to upgrade to 1.5.x because of reports like the above.

Here is my P3 Profile using 1.4.25.

We’ve actually been told quite the opposite by some other big websites (i.e. resource usage going down after the v1.5 upgrade). Have a look here for more information: https://yoast.com/major-update-wordpress-seo-1-5/

Just to make sure, is it easy to downgrade back to 1.4.x from 1.5.x? I seem to remember seeing something somewhere that said it was not.

    Thanks,
    Rich

    Hi Rich,

You remember correctly, downgrading will break things as v1.5 converts all the data WPSEO saves to strict value types.

If you’ve exported your settings before upgrading and/or made a backup of the database as is the recommended practice, you can use that data to get things back to how they were, but it will take some manual importing into the database and such.

I experienced the same problem as Rich as soon as I updated to WPSEO 1.5.2.2. The performance is so slow on Mac Safari that I have to keep the plugin deactivated. By slow, I mean it often times out before completing page load.

Strangely, it seems to be Safari-specific, as my site still feels good on Chrome.

Same problems here and also with Safari. It was using around 55% of load time and costing around 1.7387 seconds which is considerable. I just logged in on Firefox to make sure it wasn’t a glitch with just Safari but same results so it is not Safari.

I am running the latest version of Yoast. Wondering if we need to switch to a new SEO until this gets sorted out. Any suggestions?

I profiled my WordPress site’s performance using the Profile Plugin and I wanted
to share the results with you. Please take a look at the information below:

It is a known fact that P3 Profiler cannot measure the WPSEO plugin properly, so your results are not in actual fact real results.

@jrf – Can you please site the source for your comment or send us to other testing tools to verify?

I’m curious because so many people have stated the same results with WordPress SEO.

Same here… site has slowed right down… I’m about to disable it and move on like to know if there are any solutions that come about though… I love the plugin but it slows things down too much

There is actually a message within the P3 Profiler that says WordPress SEO does, in fact, show artificially high results.
