    Hi,
I have a problem with a website, or rather, a client’s SEO agency has noticed it. Only pages that return a status code of 200 and are indexable should appear in the sitemap. Redirects, error pages, canonicalized URLs and non-indexed pages should not be included in the sitemap, as this gives Google misleading signals about which pages should be included in the index. The redirect was created using the “Redirection” plugin.

    Hi @florian385

Are you facing a redirected page is available in Yoast SEO generated sitemap?

In similar cases, we have noticed Yoast SEO sitemap may not remove the redirected page when the redirect is created from a third party plugin.

If you still need to exclude those URLs from the sitemap, you’ve two options:

    • You can either use the?Redirect Manager?of Yoast SEO Premium. Know that if the redirects are added via Yoast SEO Premium’s redirect manager, the old URLs will be removed automatically from the sitemap.
    • Or manually edit the pages from Yoast SEO metabox > Advanced section and set?no?for the “Allow search engines to show this Page in search results?“. This will set the pages to noindex and will be removed from the Yoast sitemap.
