Error: Current WordPress version does not meet minimum requirements for Yoast SEO.

I am new to all this. New to WordPress, to Yoast SEO, new to Nas, et cetera.

I have managed to set up version of WordPress on my new Nas,

But when I attempt to install the Yoast SEO plugin, I get the above message.

Both WordPress and PHP are up-to-date.

I deactivated the other 6 plugins, just in case.(They all installed and run fine)

    Suggestions appreciated. (Complete novice here)

    Hi @emerald!

The latest version of WordPress is 5.6.2. Can you please verify that’s the version you’re running? If you’re already updated, please provide us the URL of your site so we can investigate further.

Having done some more research I have discovered that WordPress is lying to me.

    See attached
    “>

I also downloaded and configured Easy Updates Manager and made the following change to my WP–config.php file, as per the instructions on their site.

Manually Enable Automatic Update for Major Releases in WordPress
This method requires you to add code to your WordPress files.

First, you need to add the following line of code to your site’s wp-config.php file.

    1
    define( ‘WP_AUTO_UPDATE_CORE’, true );

    It made no difference.

The issue you’re currently experiencing is due to the outdated WordPress version you’re currently running. You’ll need to update the WordPress to the latest version first.

If you’re having trouble with updating WordPress to the latest version, your web hosting provider may be the best place to assist you with this.

Alternatively, you can submit the WordPress update issue on the WordPress general forum so the community can help you as well.

If you have installed WordPress locally, you don’t have a web hosting provider. In this case, you should be able to update WordPress easily.

    I can’t

Could you possibly tell me how?

You should be able to update WordPress to the latest version from the dashboard updates page. If not, you can manually update the WordPress or reinstall it completely since it’s on your localhost.

That said, if you’re still having trouble with updating WordPress to the latest version, you shall submit this to the WordPress general forum so the community can look into this further for you.

The forum here is specific to Yoast SEO plugin support only.

I finally got WordPress updated by downloading the new version and then uploading it over the top of the existing version.
All appears to be working normally now.
    Thanks for your help, appreciated.
