    Hello Team,

Today I just observed that the Yoast SEO plugin is disappeared from my site. It’s not listed in the installed plugin, not listed in the side-bar menu, and also no options for SEO on my post as well. Please note there is no update done for WordPress or any theme recently. Could you please assist here?

I am not attempting the installation of Plugin with Overwrite option as I am afraid that it will erase all my existing SEO stuff on current blog posts, which will be a big mess to correct manually again. Please assist here.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hey @abhaymorey,

    Thank you for reaching out.

This sounds like a failed update, where the plugin files are no longer complete and the plugin is no longer listed on the overview.

Please check on your web host file manager/SFTP if you can see /wordpress-seo/ folder in /wp-content/plugins/. If so, please remove the full folder including whats in it.

After doing so, you can install Yoast SEO through your dashboard again. Please know that you won’t lose any previously work as all of this is stored in your database, not in the plugin files.
