The Yoast SEO free plugin: Readability section, says “Consecutive sentences: The text contains 3 consecutive sentences starting with the same word. Try to mix things up!”, but the eye icon doesn’t show the offending sentences because they don’t exist.

This gives me an orange result when it should be green.

    Hello Alice,

Thanks for reaching out about our readability analysis.

Unfortunately, the eye marker feature is only available in the default Visual editor. If you’re using the WordPress native content editor, please make sure that you’re using the visual editor instead of using the text or code editor mode to make sure that the Yoast SEO eye marker feature can highlight the specific parts of your content. In some cases, you may need to update the content or refresh the page to be able to activate the eye marker.

Thank you Maybellyne, but I think you misunderstand me.

I have checked all of my posts for any consecutive sentences, and cannot find any, in spite of Yoast Readability Section saying there are. (This is for all of my 162 posts, not just individual ones.)

Lately I have noticed it says the keyword is not present in the first paragraph, when it definitely is (in the first line). (This also occurs for all of my posts.)

I always use the Visual Editor. Refreshing makes no difference at all.

If I could send you an image proving this, I would.

    Hello Alice,

    Thanks for the clarification.

Yes, please provide us with screenshots that highlight the issue you are experiencing. You can use any image-sharing service like https://pasteboard.co/, https://snag.gy/, https://imgur.com/, https://snipboard.io/, or even upload the screenshot to your own website. Once you upload it to an image-sharing service, please share the link to the image here.

You can also share a URl to one of the posts where consecutive sentences are reported.

    Hi Maybellyne,

I’ve created a page https://www.thecommentingclub.co.uk/yoast-examples/ which shows you what I mean.

    Hello Alice,

Thank you for sharing more details.

Upon checking the screenshot, we are not sure if you are using the Classic editor, can you please confirm if you are using the Classic editor or any other editor?

If you are using the Classic editor, we’d like you to perform a conflict check. This will help you narrow down the exact cause.

Often, we see problems occur in combination with another plugin or theme. The fastest way to rule out any conflict is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty.

Please test this on your development or staging site if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.

If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts

If you feel uncomfortable doing this yourself or if this does not solve your issue, our Yoast SEO Premium plugin comes with one year of (technical) support.
