    Hi there,

I have a recipe blog that I have recently started having issues with, particularly with the Yoast SEO Plugin.

I have had no issues with the Plugin but in the last 2 days I am now getting an error on the right hand panel which says, SEO: Not Available, where it previously had my Yoast Rating.

My WordPress version is Version 5.5.3

My Yoast plugin version is Version 15.3

This error does not show for previous posts, but for new Posts/Recipes I am trying to add. When I look at the Yoast plugin admin page there are no errors I am aware of and it seems to be working. On the pages where SEO: Not Available is present the Yoast box which usually appears just under the body of the post does not appear.

If anyone is aware of this issue or can provide a recommendation for fixing it would be appreciate.

    Regards,
    Recipe Blogger ??

    Hello @recipeblogger,

    Thanks for reaching out!

The SEO not available issue occurs when you don’t have a focus keyphrase set in the Yoast SEO meta box. So, please make sure that you have a focus keyphrase set and including meta description, once you have the focus keyphrase set, please publish or update the post/page and which should change the “SEO not available” to “Ok” or “Good”.

However, you mentioned that the Yoast SEO meta box which usually appears just under the body of the post does not appear. This means you won’t be able to add the focus keyphrase.

In that case, we will like some more information:

    1. Can you confirm you have the right user permissions? You can check by going to Users->Your Name->Yoast SEO settings (may need to scroll down) and confirm that both “disable SEO” and “disable readability” are unclicked?
    2. Can you confirm that the SEO, Readability, and Insights are all enabled by going to SEO->General->Features and checking that SEO, Readability, and Insights are all enabled?
    3. Can you confirm that the SEO and Readability are enabled on the posts? You can check by going to SEO->Search Appearance->Content Types and seeing that the Yoast SEO Meta box says “Show”?
    4. Can you confirm that if you go to the post/page and click on Screen Options (in the top right) that all the right options are enabled? If you are using the new Gutenberg editor you will need to click on the dots in the corner and select options. See image: https://pasteboard.co/I0PzCxd.png which highlights how to check this.
This article should help serve as a guide for some of the settings — https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-enable-disable-the-keyword-analysis/.
