    Hi,
on [ redundant link removed ] Yoast Seo causes problems: The boxes for keyword, meta description are not there anymore. When I write an article, I can’t write tags. I even can’t change tags of already existing entries.

I see the accordeon: SEO | Lesbarkeit | Social | Erweitert but only the last two (Social an Erweitert) have fields, which I could fill in. SEO and Lesbarkeit are empty.

I’m using Extra and an Supporter of Elegant Themes tested the blog ans said, Yoast Seo causes the failure.

If I deactivate Yoast Seo everything is fine. If I activate Yoast Seo, the failure is there again.

    This problem sucks!

[ Please do not bump. ]

  • Hi,

We apologize for the difficulties you are having with the plugin. We would like some more information.

    1. Can you confirm you are using the most recent Yoast SEO, v11.7? If you update, does the issue resolve?

    2. Are all your non-Yoast plugins and themes also updated?

    3. When you say the boxes are not there, do you mean the metabox is showing blank? Are you able to take a screenshot? You can use a tool like: https://pasteboard.co/ to share the image.

    1. Yes
    2. Yes, version 11.7
    3. Yes and no. The metabox for seo is not there. Nothing happens if I klick on seo oder Lesbarkeit / readable

We’re sorry that you are experiencing problems that might be caused by our plugin!

Just to be sure, we would like to rule out any plugin or theme conflicts that may occur. The fastest way to do this is to?deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme?like?Twenty Nineteen.?

Test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the?Health Check & Troubleshooting?plugin. This plugin allows you to run a conflict check?without affecting normal visitors to your site.

As we can imagine that you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process:?How to check for plugin conflicts.

    Hello,

thank you for your advice. I installed Health Check & Trobleshooting, made all the tests, installed Twenty Nineteen and tested again.

As soon as I activat Yoast Seo, the failure accurs again.

Error-Message from Health Check & Troubleshooting.
“Beim Aktivieren des Plugins, wordpress-seo, ist ein Website-Fehler aufgetreten. Aus diesem Grund wurde die ?nderung automatisch rückg?ngig gemacht.”

    Hi,

Odd. We’d like for you to try one last thing. If you switch the browser to Chrome does the metabox load? Please make sure your Chrome is up to date and you have no browser plugins running.

    Hello,

I tested with Chrome. No Metabox. Same failure as befor.

    >and you have no browser plugins running.

You mean safe mode? As soon as I activat Yoast Seo, the failure accurs again.

Just to confirm, have you tried disabling all other plugins EXCEPT Yoast SEO while using Twenty Nineteen theme? Did the issue persist? Are your other plugins and themes updated?

    Hello

with aktive Health Check & Troubleshooting and using Twenty Ninetee I receive
the error message “Beim Aktivieren des Plugins, wordpress-seo, ist ein Website-Fehler aufgetreten. Aus diesem Grund wurde die ?nderung automatisch rückg?ngig gemacht.”

    I can’t activate any Plugin.

    I can’t activate Yoast SEO

because Health Check & Troubleshooting does deactivate anything I want to activate.

If I use my normal Extra-Child theme and deactivate all Plugins exept of Classic Editor and Disable Gutenberg, everything works fine as it should.

If I then activate Yoast Seo, no meta-box, no description, no tags.

We think the issue is specific to your site. We’d need to investigate further but are unable to do so on these forums. You can purchase Yoast SEO Premium and receive our Premium email support and we can help you further.

Sorry, that’s not the answer, I was looking for. If I could use Yoast Seo Premium for another blog, I maybe would buy it. But so, no way. To expensive and as we see, you are not able to solve the problem.

    Hi,

We understand the concern. We will keep this open for one more week in case someone from the community is able to provide another solution, after which we will close in order to keep the overview.

Yes, you can close this thread. I finally changed to Rank Math. The plugin migrated everything from Yoast Seo in 1 minute.

After this, Rank Math offered his help, if there where problems.

And: He did help. Found the failure what ever it whas and now the blog runs as it should and I have a better seo tool without ads but with much more possibilities than yoast seo offers for free or as premium plugin.

Better service is the best advertising!
