Yoast SEO isn't finding keywords in my content

  • I have the Yoast SEO plugin installed on a WordPress site for a client. The theme we are using is Lifeline NGO. When I try to use the plugin to set a keyword for a page, it always says the keyword doesn’t appear in the page content.

    This theme uses a page builder to create content blocks. I’m concerned that the plugin-and worse, the search spiders-aren’t reading the text that we have on the site as searchable content. Yet so many themes now are built this way that it’s hard for me to believe that is the case, and if it is, we’d have to rebuild the entire site.

    Has anyone else had this problem? Anyone have ideas why the plugin isn’t finding my keywords?
