    hello,
the Yoast eye icon does not highlight the text that I need to correct (the eye under the tabs, SEO & Readability).

am using oceanwp theme, elementor and chrome. everything is updated.

i go so far as clicking on the Yoast eye icon, click Update, then refresh the webpage i’m building in elementor. nothing is highlighted. i tried this a few times over a few days and noticed a few other folks with the same issue.

    1. a Gutenberg plugin is not activated.
    2. i have no JS errors or warnings.
    3. i wont be switching themes or disabling a handful of plugins.
i use relatively few plugins (smush, redirtection, tablepress,
WP Media folder, Shortcoder, Health Check & Troubleshooting, Code Snippets, updraft and of course, elementor).

We understand that you are using Elementor to build your post or page and the eye marker in Yoast SEO is disabled in that view.

It is expected that this is indeed disabled, as we currently have no way of interacting with the modules/blocks in the Elementor builder. This is why the marks are disabled at this point and there is no option to activate them in the Elementor builder.

A possible (though not ideal) workaround is to add the content to your default editor, use the highlight function to identify which parts of your text need adjustment or modification based on the content analysis, and then once you’re happy with the content, move it over to the Elementor editor.

thx Suwash Kunwar. i didn’t see your response til this post was closed. smart workaround.
the issue sorta leads to another question (objectively and not sarcastically): how can Yoast speak to SEO analysis & Readability if Yoast has no way of (or, limits to) interacting with the modules/blocks in the Elementor builder.
so maybe it’s the Yoast highlighting feature, and only the highlighting feature, that cannot interact with Elementor modules/blocks. still, start coding ya’ll and plz resolve. it would take Yoast to another level (with us elementor hacks ;).
