    Hello,

If as user is set up with SEO Editor do they also get the permissions of Word Press Editor?

  • Hi @cbrant10,

Yes, the SEO editor inherits the same permissions as the editor role as well as the ‘wpseo_edit_advanced_metadata’ capability.

You can find more details at the links below:

    Awesome, thank you!

If I are to add someone that will be building some landing pages for FB advertising and I do not want them to be able to add or remove users which user role is the best?

I was thinking SEO Manager or SEO Editor.

    Hello @cbrant10!

Sorry for the confusion. Only WordPress Administrators can add/remove a user under Users > All Users. If your requirement is to create users to be building some landing pages for FB advertising and don’t want them to be able to add or remove users, the SEO Editor role should be good enough. Learn more about it here.

I want to be the only admin on our account and the only person to be able to add/remove users however I also want to be able to give the user enough access to make any necessary changes they see fit i.e. themes, pages, plugins, etc.

I tried creating a custom role using “User Role Editor” however they are saying that they are unable to make changes. I am wanting them to set up a 301 redirect. I used the SEO Manager as a base role then added permissions as I saw fit.

So as you can see they are doing a little more outside the scope of a traditional FB ads manager. He has SEO experience.

    Hi,

If you assign a user to the SEO editor role with the premium version of Yoast SEO, without any additional permissions, they should be able to see the ‘Redirects’ menu on the SEO sidebar menu in the WordPress dashboard.

However, this isn’t available in the free version of Yoast SEO, as the redirects manager is a premium feature. We hope this helps clarify things. You may want to consider upgrading to Yoast SEO Premium if you want to use the added features (such as the redirect manager) or perhaps consider using another plugin or setting up your own redirects for this purpose.
