    Hi there,

We’ve encountered an odd hiccup and can’t seem to sort through it. I’ll explain what happened and what we’ve tried to fix it below.

    WHAT HAPPENED
We manage a lot of sites for clients and have been switching all of our clients to Yoast SEO from All in One SEO. This is normally a really smooth process. We install Yoast, go right to Tools > Import > Import from other SEO plugins > All in One shows up, we run the importer, then run the cleanup then go finish setting up Yoast. We typically spot check a few pages and posts to make sure everything did import before deactivating and deleating All in One. On one particular site, something happened during that process where it didn’t actually import everything – some things got imported, but many did not. We discovered this a day later. So here’s what we did: We installed All in One again. Once installed, all of our title and description tags on every page and post did show up in that. So we tried to go to the importer again. However, this time we’re getting the message, “Yoast SEO did not detect any plugin data from plugins it can import from.”

    Here’s what we’ve tried:

    • Made sure WordPress version and all plugins are up to date
    • Made sure both Yoast and All in One were active before going through the import steps
    • Made sure any caches were purged
    • Deactivated Yoast and deleted it … made sure there were no remaining database fields, then reinstalled the plugin and tried again but still got the message
    • Checked for other plugin conflicts by turning things off and on one by one and checking if that fixed it. It did not … we couldn’t find a conflict.
    • Tried installing the SEO Data Transporter plugin. It ran, but gave the message: “0 records were updated, 148 records were ignored”
    • Searched the web for answers – came across some posts and a github from December 2020 about a legit bug causing that message, but that seemed to be resolved. Could not find any other useful info.

So we’re kind of stuck here. This particular site has 150+ pages/posts so we’d really rather not have to enter all SEO data by hand but have not found a fix for this.

    Help?

    Thanks

    Hello,

We are sorry that you are unable to import your existing SEO data from the All-in-One SEO plugin and that using the SEO Data Transporter plugin does not work either. As you have rightly mentioned, a so-called “bug report” (a description of the issue, so we can fix it) is filed already.

    What’s next?
Our product team will assess the severity of this problem in relation to other open bug reports and new features. Based on their assessment, the bug report will be given a priority level. Our developers work on the highest priority issues first. Unfortunately, this means we cannot give you an estimate of when they’ll start working on your report.

If you have any further information that may affect the prioritization or help our development team solve this bug, please feel invited to reply to this forum topic, leave a comment or subscribe to the GitHub report to get updates on the issue.

    Hi Maybellyne,

Thanks. So there is nothing else we can do at this point? That github is already 6 months old now and I do not see a resolution there. I had assumed this was already addressed in a release since that time.
