When I edit a page, I scroll down to the Yoast SEO Metadata section, click on Advanced and i get the following message:
The editor has encountered an unexpected error.

    Attempt Recovery

    Copy Error

I got an automatic email from my WordPress system. I am using:
    WordPress version 5.4.2
    Current theme: Susastho (version 1.2)
Current plugin: Yoast SEO (version 14.4.1) PHP version 7.4.5

If I disable my theme’s core plugin (called Trendy Theme Core 1.1) the error goes away, I can edit the metadata and I then reenable my theme.

    Hello @osvaldogold!

Yoast SEO 14.5 is already available. Can you please update your plugin first to make sure this issue isn’t one we’ve already fixed in the recent release?

Sorry. I sent you the email I got from my Dev system where Yoast wasn’t updated to 14.5. I just updated to 14.5 and checked on my production system too. The problem did not go away.

I have to say that if I edit pages with WP Bakery Page Builder (which is part of my theme) the behavior is still erroneous but different: the tabs accross the top of the Yoast SEO metadata section remain visible (SEO, Readability, Social) but nothing else is visible in the section. I can switch tabs but nothing is displayed. Only disabling Trendy Theme Core plugin fixes the problem.

    Thank you @onlyincebu !

    Thanks for getting back, @osvaldogold.

You raised two separate issues. The system-generated email you got from WordPress and the issue with Trendy Theme Core. We’ve addressed them as follows.

    1. System-generated email from WordPress
This usually happens when the plugin files are cached and some old files are still used after updating the plugin. This causes temporary errors that resolve themselves once the cache has been cleared.

If the problem doesn’t resolve for you automatically, please clear the cache from your theme, plugin, server, and CDN (e.g. CloudFlare). If you are not sure how to clear cache from your theme or plugin, please speak to their developers. If you want to clear cache from your server, please speak to your web host.

    2. Issue with Trendy Theme Core
Based on your description, this looks like a conflict between Yoast SEO and Trendy Theme Core plugin. Unfortunately, there’s really not much we can do if it’s a plugin conflict. We regularly update our plugins for continuous improvement and bug fixes but we just can’t have our plugin work with all other plugins out there.

?Our usual suggestion with plugin conflicts is to contact the developer of the other plugin and have them work with our developers directly through this GitHub repository to find a solution that won’t conflict.

    Thank you @onlyincebu.

The email from WordPress was a one time thing, but for completeness I cleared the theme and WordPress cache.

I also reported the conflict to the Susastho developer and a follow up with your response.

Unfortunately, at least for the time being, I have to uninstall Yoast from my system.

Thanks for helping me evaluate and reach a quick decision.
