Yoast seo breaks wordpress editor

    When I try to edit my pages, the editor for wp bakery page builder does not appear. It is also not possible to click on visual in the wordpress editor.

    I have done the following:
    Checked that I have the latest wordpress version.
    Updated all themes.
    Updated all plugins.
    Tested to change theme.
    Disabled all plugins one by one.
    Reinstalled on yoast seo.

    The only plugin that makes it go wrong is yoast seo.
    I can not click on the menu tabs in the plugin yoast seo.
    I also get indexing errors (sometimes) when I check the health check.

    What can I do?

    Hi,
    We seem ta have a similar issue but there only on woocommerce products.

    When we open a product for edit (in wp-admin) browser freezes for ages (like 20min) before we can do anything, a bit like if we had a js looping.
    DB is about 20k products.
    Disabling yoast plugin seems to solve issue.

    Any advice on what we should look into ?

    I found the problem in my functions.php file. It seems like the code that defers parsing of javascript breaks the editor.

    Remove the following code:

    add_filter( 'clean_url', 'defer_parsing_of_js', 11, 1 );

    And replace it with:

    if ( !is_admin() ) {
    add_filter( ‘clean_url’, ‘defer_parsing_of_js’, 11, 1 );
}

    Now the parsing doesn’t affect the site when you are logged in.
