Yoast SEO and custom tab content

    Hi!

    Can you help me to achieve this:

    I need to add meta descriptions for WooCommerce products so that meta descriptions in Yoast SEO will be automatically filled with text from one of the additional product tabs created with the WooCommerce Product Tabs plugin and stripped to a length of 160 characters. How can I do that?

    Hi drmrgood,

    Thank you for using WooCommerce Product Tabs. This sounds more like within the scope of Yoast. If it doesn’t have the feature, the plugin will need to add a way to “grab” information from an external location (the product tabs) and then enter the value in the meta description for the product. Most of the activity involves the Yoast plugin more than the Product Tabs. The product tabs will only serve as a source from where the needed piece of information will be taken.

    The WooCommerce Product Tabs plugin is designed to add more product tabs to the product post type. It is not made to export the information in the product tabs and insert it into another area in the product.

    I recommend checking with Yoast’s support and/or documentation if there is a way in their plugin to do this. If none, you will need to get a developer to custom-build this feature for you.
