Yoast SEO adds the word “archives” to all my product page titles

Thanks for reaching out regarding your product page titles. I can also confirm that the string ‘Archive’ is added.

Can you please share two screenshots:

1. Navigate to WordPress > Yoast SEO > Search Appearance > Taxonomies > Category
2. Edit one of the affected categories and check what you have entered in the Yoast SEO plugin as the SEO title for that category

You can use any image sharing service like https://pasteboard.co/, https://snag.gy/, https://imgur.com/, https://snipboard.io/, or even upload the screenshot to your own website. Once you upload it to an image sharing service, please share the link to the image here.

I see that it looks like “Archives” is selected or unselected but I wasn’t able to find out where to fix this.

I am sorry for the delay in responding and thanks for the very helpful screenshots. In the SEO title field in WordPress > Yoast SEO > Search Appearance > Taxonomies > Categories, you can remove the string ‘archives’. Does this resolve the issue?

I did that and no, it doesn’t resolve the issue.

You will also need to remove the string from the SEO title field when you edit the specific category.

It’s not there and never has been.

I can’t remove what isn’t there.

Looking at the last screenshot in https://alwayspaws.com/yoast-seo-categories-add-archives/, the SEO title field has the string ‘Archives’ in between the variable %Term title% and %Page%. That is the one I am referring to.

Taking a second look at https://alwayspaws.com/product-category/miniature-lifelike-cats-dogs/, it just occurred to me it is a product category. So can you check for the unwanted string in the SEO title field in WordPress > Yoast SEO > Search Appearance > Taxonomies > Product categories.

@maybellyne 1. I updated that right after I created the page.

2. Great news! SEO title field in WordPress > Yoast SEO > Search Appearance > Taxonomies > Product categories

That’s where “archives” was hiding. All fixed now! I then removed “archives” from all the other sections on that page, that I could edit.
