Just updated Yoast SEO to 9.6. Before the update we were trying to publish to the blog and couldn’t get the posts to publish. They showed up on the blog when we were logged into the site, but weren’t there when we logged out. I know that sounds like we had it set up as a Private post but really they were Public! When we updated Yoast SEO the post published OK. Will this happen from now on with Gutenberg and Yoast SEO updates?

  • Hello.
Following this thread started by Vanessa, I don’t think it is “just” a conflict with WP 5.0.3. we have Yoast plugin on a couple of websites with earlier versions and we’re having trouble with the Yoast Plugin since last update (version 9.6).
we can’t edit “title” and “description” on the plugin, when we mouseover on it the fields just disappear! We’ve disabled caching, other plugins, and it still acts this way.
We rolled back to version 9.5 and everything is working great again!

@designtospec Can you try and gather as much information for us as possible? Please perform the following:

    1. Make sure the issue doesn’t persist when Yoast SEO is disabled.
    2. Check for conflicts.
    3. Check for JavaScript errors with your console.
If you find any JavaScript errors related to Yoast SEO or if there is a conflict with a plugin or a theme, you can create a new GitHub issue for our developers. Please report the issue to a third party developer as well.

If you didn’t find any conflicts or errors, we think the issue is specific to your site. We’d need to investigate further but are unable to do so on these forums. You can purchase Yoast SEO Premium and receive our Premium email support and we can help you further.

@giljspereira Please create a new issue if you are experiencing a different problem as this helps us in tracking as this can be caused by many different variables (WordPress version, other plugins, etc).

I think I’m relieved. When Yoast was disabled we couldn’t get replicate the issue. We decided to go a step further and delete Yoast SEO and got the issue to present itself again. So Yoast SEO looks like it’s ruled out. WHEW!!!! Getting out the shovel to dig deeper into what’s causing the problem.
