Hi, The Yoast Readability test is not appearing when writing a new post.

I’ve checked for Javascript conflicts and I can not find any.

To replicate this you could type out some text into an “New Post” section and see if the eye appears.

I have updated to the latest version of Yoast and WordPress.

I have not experienced this issue before.

    Thanks

    Eddie

The eye is not available when in text mode and does not appear in visual until you have added enough words for the eye to appear. If you write a longer or complete post, do the eyes show up?

I am in visual mode and the word count on the post is currently at 962 words.

I have tried to resolve the problem by accessing my wordpress backend from Safari, Chrome and Firefox and the problem persists in each browser.

I have also accessed old posts that previously had Readability tests that i have worked on, and they are all missing the eye.

I found this thread on GitHub: https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/6466
Which describes the same problem. But the layout of the tread has left me confused, i cant tell if support have helped the guy, answered at all or resolved the issue.

The open issue you linked to is specific to WooCommerce product category pages which would be a different issue as you said it’s not working on posts.

Please provide the answers to the following:

    1. Have you performed a conflict check? If not, please do so. Did you discover a conflict?
    2. Does the issue occur when using a default theme with only Yoast SEO active?
    3. Does the issue occur with the current version of WordPress?
    4. Does the issue occur with the current version of Yoast SEO?
    5. Is the issue specific to a certain part of your site, like posts, products, categories, etc?

    1. Yes I have performed a conflict check. I did not discover a conflict.

    2. The issue still occurs using a default theme (twenty Sixteen) with only Yoast SEO active.

    3. I am on the current version of WordPress 4.7.1 and the issue still occurs

    4. I am on the curent version of Yoast 4.1 and the issue still occurs

    5. The specific part of my site that is effected is on Posts

Here is a screen shot from the Readability section form my most recent post. This is with the latest version of Yoast and wordpress running and all of my other plugins deactivated .

As you can see there is no “Eye”

And here is a screen shot of the word count of the post “1602” words, (again with the latest version of versions of Yoast and WordPress running and all other plugins deactivated)

Ahh ok I just logged out and back in again and it is now working.

There must be a conflict with a plugin.

    I’ll figure it out.

    Thanks

It seems to be the OptimizePress Theme and the Optimize Press Plugin

    Is this a known issue?

I did not see one specific to your issue. Can you please submit that to our GitHub repository for Yoast SEO? Thanks!

As the issue is a conflict with another plugin or theme, we highly recommend reporting the issue to the development or support team of the other plugin or theme. Having both teams work on the issue is a benefit to you.

If you have not submitted an issue previously, this guide will help you submit a complete report which may result in a faster resolution.
