I did a post yesterday where the focus key word was “metering mode”.

On the General tab of Yoast it reported as being found in:

    Article Heading 1
    Page Title 1
    Page URL 1
    Content 22
    Meta description 2

However, on the Page Analysis tab it tells me that the focus keyword does NOT appear in the first paragraph, which it does.

Page analysis also says that the focus keyword density is 0% – how can this be when it’s already found it 22 times.

Any ideas on how to fix this please?

I’ve uninstalled the plugin and then re-installed it – same problem.

Older posts now show the same problem.

The SEO light is still green on all my posts though.

This problem began either late Wednesday or early Thursday.

  • This same problem is with me and I really don’t know what to do.

    Hi,

Same problem here on two wp websites I have updated. I have others that should have the update, but too worried to do so.

The report on the general tab looks OK, but when you check out the page analysis tab you see the errors. I wish I knew what to do to sort it out. I emailed Yoast on Friday, no reply yet.

Hi, same problem for my WP, I’ve opened a GitHub issue here:

    https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/703

I’m still waiting for an answer.

Hello I have exactly the same problem. Can somebody help us?

Yes. Having the same problem as above. In the page analysis I receive the messages. I noticed this problem yesterday. It is happening on about 70% of my posts. Can’t figure it out. Have version Version 1.4.25

    Messages In Page Analysis

The keyword doesn’t appear in the first paragraph of the copy, make sure the topic is clear immediately.

The keyword density is 0%, which is a bit low, the keyword was found times.

With the help of Juliette from GitHub I’ve found out that this problem is likely due to the version of PHP; with PHP 5.3 the plugin is not working completely whereas with PHP 5.4.4 it’s working correctly.
I’ll ask to my hosting provider to upgrade the PHP version on my website.
I hope this can help someone else in solving this issue.

    Hi. Thanks for the information.

I upgraded to PHP 5.4 which was an option in Godaddy. There is an improvement in the page analysis. But there still is a problem.

For example, the error “The keyword doesn’t appear in the first paragraph of the copy, make sure the topic is clear immediately” is gone.

However, in the general tab, it states that the keyword phrase is showing only once in the content. However in the Page Analysis, it states the keyword phrase is found 6 times which is correct.

I added in another instance of the keyword phrase and the page analysis seems to be correct. The percentage for keyword density increased as well as the keyword phrase been counted correctly in the page analysis.

However, on the General tab, it still shows that the keyword phrase only appears once in the content.

Well, it seems like upgrading the PHP version helps as in my case all the problems are gone and the plugin is working all fine now.

Yes. Today, I checked and went through all my posts. And it seems to have fixed them all more or less. Maybe the changes had to take a few hours to replicate itself through my website. Or something along that.

PEW! Thanks for this! I upgraded and still waiting to see if the changes are in place! I hope everything comes back together as it’s in shambles at the moment. Duplicate contradictory reports like ” Keyword appears 8 times” and “No Keyword was found”
