I am currently running wordpress 5.2.4 and went to update the Yoast SEO plugin to 12.5.1.

The update caused a technical error on my site, which was only fixed by deactivating the Yoast SEO Plugin through recovery mode.

I verified that the update should be compatible with my theme, cleared my cache, and even restarted my computer, but am still not able to reactivate the plugin on my site.

Every time I try I receive an error that “plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error”.

Here is the actual error message:

Warning: include(/www/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/vendor/composer/../../admin/class-yoast-alerts.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /www/wp-content/plugins/official-facebook-pixel/vendor/composer/ClassLoader.php on line 444 Warning: include(): Failed opening ‘/www/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/vendor/composer/../../admin/class-yoast-alerts.php’ for inclusion (include_path=’.:/usr/share/php’) in /www/wp-content/plugins/official-facebook-pixel/vendor/composer/ClassLoader.php on line 444 Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Class ‘Yoast_Alerts’ not found in /www/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/wp-seo-main.php:502 Stack trace: #0 /www/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/wp-seo.php(48): require_once() #1 /wordpress/wp-admin/includes/plugin.php(2141): include(‘/www/wp-content…’) #2 /wordpress/wp-admin/plugins.php(175): plugin_sandbox_scrape(‘wordpress-seo/w…’) #3 {main} thrown in /www/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/wp-seo-main.php on line 502

Please advise on how to reactivate Yoast on my site. Thank you.
